MiniMax releases Music 3.0 as an open-weights full-song model
The new model accepts a concept and optional lyrics, targets complete arranged songs and ships weights for local or hosted deployment.

MiniMax Music 3.0 is a full-song generation model designed to compose, arrange, perform and render a finished track from a creative concept and optional lyrics. MiniMax is releasing model weights rather than limiting access to one consumer product.
The company says the update focuses on more natural vocal performance, clearer pronunciation and production-ready audio. It supports multiple languages, instrumental generation and detailed control over musical direction.
Open weights change the use case
The important difference from a closed web generator is deployment. Developers can evaluate, fine-tune and host the model within their own infrastructure, subject to the published license and hardware requirements. That makes Music 3.0 relevant to products, research and private workflows, not only to people generating a song in a browser.
The release should still be judged through independent listening and workflow tests. MiniMax's quality descriptions are first-party claims, and open weights do not automatically answer questions about training data, commercial licensing or the rights attached to a generated recording.
